Bacterial games — Rock, Paper, Scissors on a lattice

Today I gave a talk about cyclic competition. The simplest model of this kind of competition is the Rock-Paper-Scissors-Game. For the most people the presentation I embed here will be interesting only in the first part. For mathematicians and physicians it could be quite interesting further. But interesting for all kind of people is the presentation software I used. It isn’t based on slides, in my opinion a relict of old projector technique, but on a nearly infinite white (or colored) space, where you can zoom and wander around at will. On prezi.com there are a lot of very nice examples how you can use this. The only thing I don’t like is, that the whole thing is flash-based. That wastes a lot of resources.

If you want to sign up as a student or teacher, make sure that you get the educational license. With that it’s free to make private »prezis« and the desktop version is almost two-thirds cheaper.

So now have fun with the first talk I created with this nice programm (best in fullscreen 4:3, because it was planned for the projector):
